Almost 2 million Londoners struggle to afford, or access enough food. It's estimated 400,000 of these people are children. These stats come from London.gov.uk (2019) and the numbers are likely to be much higher thanks to the pandemic.

The Right To Food Campaign have launched a petition on change.org to demand the government to include Right To Food in the National Food Strategy. If you live or work in London, you can sign it here: https://www.change.org/p/sadiq-khan-make-london-a-right-to-food-city-calling-on-london-mayor-to-support-the-right-to-food

If enough signatures are acquired then Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan will immediately write to the government demanding the Right To Food is included in the National Food Strategy White Paper. This is a national campaign which argues that 11 million people in food poverty should should be central to this strategy. The strategy includes: economic rights to enable equitable access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods and universal free school meals.

You can share the petition and get involved by emailing righttofoodlondon@gmail.com or follow them on Twitter @RightToFoodLDN
